Nice to see vox is still going on!
Just thought I would throw this little gem up on the Iron Blog. I have been really enjoying HDR as of late. This photo was taken as the sun was setting over Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.
Your almost there. You can find him at MattPippen.com.
They're taking down that dangerous cult
It has been quite some time since I last posted to my Vox Blog. I have been so busy with my new orthodontic practice. The website is almost done (finally). Just a few pieces left. You can check out the site here.
I had one of those moments last night, and it has left me with the most sublime feeling I've felt in forever. I say left me with, but it will never end or go away, because it will never be forgotten.
I'm feeling really good lately, I hope you are too.
It blows my mind that people have time to waste on this shit.
I wonder if the american family association realizes that all that porn is relieving the tension that might otherwise be spent into another man/woman's body. I'm pretty sure that makes god frown even more.
With the release of Leopard (the new Mac OS, for those non techy types) came a bunch of new features. One that I'm growing to like is the ability to read RSS feeds inside Mail.app. The only problem with using it this way is that it's not as easy to navigate as something like NetNewsWire. You have to manually click on specific feeds to read the particular articles instead of having a nice view of all unread articles. Well here is how to get back that control over your feeds.
There's no way I'm voting in this next presidential election. It's not because I think every candidate is junk, because I do think a couple of the lesser known runners have some decent views. I'm not voting because I just don't feel this system of government is appropriate any longer. At least for the United States.
The U.S.A. is too large, in terms of both population and geography. Politics and government don't work at all when they feel distant from the people, and that's exactly what's happening now. No one gives a shit about what the gov't does because they're too far from it. This exact same problem arises in business as well. Companies that get too large often find themselves stagnant and suffering from major communication issues. Overseeing an entity that large, and keeping the appropriate and relevant information going to the right people, is extremely difficult. Keeping employees from feeling lost and lacking an identity within the business is incredibly hard, and if you don't succeed, often they will begin to grow indifferent to the success of the business, as they no longer see the fruits of their labor, their intelligence, and their personality. When faced with this problem, many companies simply break up into several smaller companies, in an effort to restore the individuality and feeling of self-worth amongst it's population. The employees of the smaller companies feel much closer to the management and they see their good decisions clearly returning good results. Their voice matters again.
I really feel this is what the United States needs to do. We're too big. People no longer care to raise their voice, because they cannot be heard in the crowd of 300 million other people shouting. I think the federal gov't should be disbanded, and have all of it's (former) power handed to the state governments. Keep gov't local. Keep it near the people.
